     کارآفرینی روستایی راهکار جدیدی در نظریههای توسعه برای توانمندسازی و ظرفیت‌سازی در مناطق روستایی در جهت تغییر الگوی زندگی کنونی به الگوی مطلوب و شایسته انسانی است. یکی از جلوه‌های کارآفرینی فعالیت چندگانه است. لذا این پژوهش با هدف تحلیل و تعمق در فعالیت چندگانه کشاورزان اجرا گردید. فعالیت چندگانه به عنوان ترکیب فعالیت‌های کشاورزی و غیرکشاورزی که به‌وسیله خانوار کشاورز اجرا می‌شود، تعریف شده است. به‌عبارتی فعالیت چندگانه به این موضوع اشاره دارد که یک فرد (کشاورز) یا گروهی از افراد (کشاورزان) در فعالیت‌های مختلف (کشاورزی و غیرکشاورزی) درگیر هستند. این نوع کشاورزان را کشاورزان چندکاره می‌نامند. به‌طور کلی انواع کسب و کار در کنار فعالیت کشاورزی در سه بخش صنعتی، کشاورزی (خارج از فعالیت اصلی کشاورز) و خدماتی طبقه‌بندی می‌شوند. کشاورزان چندکاره شامل 1- کشاورز به عنوان کشاورز؛ 2- کشاورز به عنوان کارآفرین؛ 3- کشاورز به عنوان پیمانکار و 4- کارآفرین روستایی هستند. توسعه فعالیت چندگانه کشاورزان خرده‌پا به جهت ارتقاء یافتن استاندارهای زندگی، کاهش اختلاف درآمد شهر و روستا، کنترل فرآیند شهرنشینی، کاهش هزینه بازتولید اجتماعی بسیار حائز اهمیت است. لذا، توجه به فعالیت چندگانه کشاورزان گامی رو به جلو در جهت توسعه پایدار روستایی است.
