بخش کشاورزی هم از نظر توسعه‌ی اقتصادی و هم از لحاظ توسعه‌ی اشتغال و کارآفرینی، از مهمترین بخش های کشور میباشد. این بخش در تعامل با سایر بخش‌ها بوده و متأثر از متغیرها و سیاستهای کلان اقتصادی می باشد. در همین راستا، در این پژوهش سعی شد تا اثرات کوتاه‌مدت و بلندمدت سیاستهای کلان اقتصادی دولت بر توسعه‌ی اشتغال بخش کشاورزی بررسی شود. متغیرهای کلان اقتصادی شامل نرخ تورم، نرخ ارز، حجم پول و مخارج دولت بود که در دوره‌ی زمانی 95-1370 مورد مطالعه قرار گرفت. همچنین جهت بررسی آثار کوتاه‌مدت و بلند متغیرهای مذکور از رهیافت ARDL (رگرسیون خود توضیحی با وقفه‌های توزیعی) استفاده شد. یافته ها نشان داد در کوتاه‌مدت نرخ ارز و حجم نقدینگی تاثیر مثبت بر اشتغال بخش کشاورزی دارند درحالیکه مخارج دولت و نرخ تورم اثرشان منفی است. در بلندمدت نیز وضعیت مشابه کوتاه‌مدت میباشد ولی با این تفاوت که کشش ها بزرگترند و این نیز تا حد زیادی منطقی میباشد، زیرا سیاستهای اقتصادی علی‌الخصوص سیاستهای پولی درنگ بیرونی بالاتری دارند. بهعبارتی آثار آن در اقتصاد با وقفه‌ی زمانی و در یک دوره‌ی چندساله روی متغیرهای اقتصادی خود را نشان می‌دهد. لذا، براساس نتایج این تحقیق سیاستهای دولت جهت افزایش اشتغال بخش کشاورزی باید شامل مهار تورم، مدیریت نرخ ارز، افزایش حجم نقدینگی و اعمال سیاست پولی انبساطی و هدایت نقدینگی برای سرمایه‌گذاری در بخش کشاورزی و نیز اعمال سیاستهای مالی انبساطی در قالب سرمایه‌گذاری دولت در امور زیر بنایی و تولیدی کشاورزی و همچنین سیاستهای حمایتی باشد.
