اگر چه موضوع تلاطم ­های شخصی در ادبیات کارآفرینی و خلاقیت تا حدود زیادی مغفول مانده است اما صاحب­نظران از آن به­ عنوان عاملی برای سرمایه­ گذاری جدید، شکل­ گیری نیت راه ­اندازی کسب و کارهای جدید و تشخیص فرصت یاد کرده ­اند. در این راستا، پژوهش حاضر با هدف واکاوی نقش تلاطم­ های شخصی در تشخیص فرصت ­های کارآفرینانۀ کشاورزی در استان کرمانشاه انجام شد. جامعۀ آماری این پژوهش شامل کلیۀ کارآفرینان بخش کشاورزی استان کرمانشاه در سال 1394 بوده است. که به روش تصادفی ساده تعداد 102 نفر از آن­ها برای انجام پژوهش انتخاب شدند. ابزار اصلی گردآوری داده ­ها، پرسش­نامۀ محقق ساخته­ای بود که روایی و پایایی آن با استفاده از پانل متخصصان و روش کودر- ریچاردسون به تأیید رسید. نتایج پژوهش نشان داد که کارآفرینان مورد مطالعه، فرصت­های کارآفرینی موجود در بخش کشاورزی را به درستی و موفقیت ­آمیز شناسایی نموده­ا ند؛ چرا که در سطح بالایی امکان ­پذیری، تناسب و مطلوبیت آن را مورد بررسی قرار داده­ بودند. افزون بر این، یافته­ های پژوهش بیانگر آن بود که از میان کلیۀ کارآفرینان کشاورزی مورد مطالعه تنها 3/37 درصد از آنان تا پیش از راه ­اندازی کسب و کار کارآفرینانه و تشخیص فرصت کارآفرینی کشاورزی در زندگی شخصی خود با تلاطم­ ها و وقایع ناخوشایندی مواجه شده بودند. نتایج حاصل از تحلیل رگرسیون حاکی از آن بود که تلاطم ­های شخصی قادر به تبیین 18 درصد از تغییرات واریانس تشخیص فرصت­های کارآفرینی در بخش کشاورزی استان کرمانشاه می ­باشد. دستاورد اصلی این مطالعه، تشویق سیاست ­گذاران، برنامه­ ریزان و مدیران به ­منظور ایجاد حس خودباوری در روستاییان و کشاورزان برای بهره ­گیری از پتانسیل ­های عظیم بخش کشاورزی می­ باشد.
