تعریف رایج از جایگاه جنسیتی در جامعه و الگوهای شکل‏ گرفته ذهنی بر مبنای آن، بر بروز رفتارهای متفاوت بر اساس جنسیت اثرگذار است. لذا مطالعه حاضر به دنبال آن است تا مشخص نماید کدام تفاوت‏های جنسیتی، بر بروز و تمایل به کارآفرینی اثرگذار است. دانشجویان مقطع کارشناسی رشته کشاورزی در دانشگاه محقق اردبیلی جامعه آماری این پژوهش را تشکیل دادند (N= 740). پژوهش از نوع کاربردی و روش پژوهش پیمایشی بود. حجم نمونه بر اساس فرمول کوکران به تعداد 275 نفر (127 دانشجوی مرد و 148 دانشجوی زن) تعیین گردید و نمونه‏ گیری با استفاده از روش طبقه ‏ای تصادفی با انتساب متناسب انجام شد. یافته‏ها نشان داد دانشجویان مرد نسبت به دانشجویان زن، از میزان تمایل به کارآفرینی بالاتری برخوردار بودند. دانشجویان مرد نسبت به دانشجویان زن، از سطوح ریسک ‏پذیری و استقلال‏ طلبی بالاتری برخوردار بودند؛ اما دانشجویان زن نسبت به مرد از میزان انگیزه پیشرفت بیشتری برخوردار بودند. همچنین مهم‏ترین متغیرهای پیش­بینی کننده و متمایزکننده بروز کارآفرینی بر اساس جنسیت، مربوط به انتظارات و تصور عمومی جامعه نسبت به جنسیت، تمایل به کارآفرینی و تصور از توانایی­ های روحی و روانی برای اقدام به فعالیت‏ های کارآفرینانه بود.
