تحولات سال‌های گذشته در بازار کار دانش‌آموختگان کشاورزی ضرورت توجه دانشکده‌های کشاورزی به اشتغال‌پذیری را بیش از پیش برجسته کرده است. بنابراین، این پژوهش با هدف اندازه‌گیری میزان اشتغال‌پذیری دانشجویان کشاورزی پردیس کشاورزی و منابع طبیعی دانشگاه تهران (715 N=) و همچنین بررسی روابط برخی از متغیرها با اشتغال‌پذیری آنان انجام شد. حجم نمونه با استفاده از فرمول کوکران، 190 نفر برآورد شد که از طریق روش نمونه گیری تصادفی طبقه ای با انتساب متناسب انتخاب شدند. برای جمع‌آوری داده‌ها، پرسشنامه‌ای در میان نمونه توزیع شد. روایی صوری پرسشنامه به‌وسیله ی پنلی از متخصصان و پایایی آن از طریق آلفای کرونباخ بررسی شد. داده‌ها با استفاده از نرم‌افزار SPSS تجزیه و تحلیل شدند. بر اساس یافته‌ها، میانگین کل مهارت‌های اشتغال‌پذیری دانشجویان رشته‌های کشاورزی پردیس کشاورزی و منابع طبیعی دانشگاه تهران 3/3 از 5 بود که می‌توان گفت اندکی از متوسط بیشتر است. بیشترین ضعف دانشجویان در مؤلفه‌های تجربه ی کار و زندگی (میانگین 72/2) و دانش و مهارت تخصصی رشته ی تحصیلی (81/2) بود. همچنین، متغیرهای اهمیت ادراکشده توسعه ی مهارت‌های اشتغال پذیری، سابقه ی کار کشاورزی، علاقه به رشته تحصیلی، سابقه‌ی کار غیرکشاورزی و واگذاری مسئولیت در دوران کودکی از سوی خانواده با میزان اشتغال‌پذیری دانشجویان همبستگی معنی‌داری داشت. در دانشجویان پسر، نمره ی کل اشتغال‌پذیری و همه ی مؤلفه‌های آن (دانش و مهارت تخصصی، مهارت‌های عمومی، تجربه، یادگیری توسعه‌ی شغلی و هوش هیجانی) بیشتر از دانشجویان دختر بود. همچنین، تفاوت بین میانگین کل اشتغال‌پذیری دانشجویان دختر و پسر و همه ی مؤلفه‌های آن به‌جز مهارت‌های عمومی و هوش هیجانی معنی دار بود. در نهایت، بر اساس یافته‌های این پژوهش توصیه می‌شود مباحث اشتغال‌پذیری در دانشکده‌های کشاورزی مورد توجه قرار گیرد و این برنامه‌ها حتی‌الامکان با توجه ویژه نسبت به دانشجویان دختر انجام گیرد.
